Profile

Hello, I’m Ronny Waburek – a media professional with a background in journalism and visual communication. For over 15 years, I’ve been combining precise writing with thoughtful design to create content that’s clear and engaging at the same time.

I live in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and work as an editor at INSIDE Verlag in Munich. My job includes managing print and digital projects from concept to completion. I’m confident using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and know how to develop brochures, infographics, layouts, and marketing materials. I also coordinate special editions and digital formats, especially websites.

Professional Experience

  • Since 10/2020 – Editor (Projects), INSIDE Verlag, Munich
I’m involved in various tasks – mostly editorial, occasionally design-related, and often juggling multiple print and digital projects. From concept to production, I take care of almost everything. And if a web layout needs to be done before lunch, it usually is.
  • 08/2019 – 10/2020 – Editorial & Communication, KuechenAtlas
A short but rich chapter. I co-developed content, structured the website, and worked on building a stronger network for the platform.
  • 11/2015 – 08/2019 – Editor, INSIDE Verlag, Munich
My first INSIDE round: networking, research, interviews, writing – and sometimes all at once. Basically everything journalistic, except making coffee (although I knew how to do that too).
  • 11/2012 – 10/2015 – Editorial Lead, Ritthammer Verlag, Nuremberg
I led the editorial development of "Küche & Bad Forum". I created topics, wrote, designed layouts, and ensured everything made it to print on time. I also managed cross-departmental collaboration and optimized workflows. One of my bigger projects: the magazine’s relaunch.
  • 10/2008 – 10/2012 – Editor, MÖBELMARKT international
Interviews, articles, and occasional photo shoot coordination. I helped produce content for the furniture industry and contributed to the magazine’s visual design. It was my school of multitasking – and travel planning.
  • 05/2008 – 09/2008 – Online Editor, Ranaro GmbH, Nuremberg
Short texts, punchy headlines, and a first deep dive into digital publishing. I worked on SEO-relevant content and gained experience with CMS workflows.
  • 05/2007 – 05/2008 – Editorial Trainee, Bildung & Wissen Verlag, Nuremberg
The official training phase. I learned the basics of editorial work: writing, editing, proofreading, and coordinating projects. Also, how to keep calm under pressure – still useful today.
  • 03/2007 – 04/2007 – Intern, Tessloff Verlag, Nuremberg
A brief insight into online and image editing. My first contact with editorial CMS systems.

Education

  • Dalhousie University, Halifax (Canada) – Master of Arts, Media Analysis & Cultural Theory
Graduated with distinction (A+). Funded by a scholarship. Learned how to read media critically – and how to survive Canadian winters.
  • Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg – Magister Artium in German Literature, Linguistics & Musicology
A solid academic foundation in text and tone. Helped me develop a strong sense for linguistic detail – quite useful when writing.
  • Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium, Kaiserslautern – General Higher Education Entrance Qualification
Main subjects: German and Mathematics. That’s where I learned that language and logic can, in fact, go hand in hand.

  • Image editing & retouching
  • Web development with Joomla & YOOtheme
  • Video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro (basic)

Personal Interests & Traits

I love to design – whether it's editorial layouts, infographics, or fine-tuning typography. I’m known for my structured approach, technical versatility, and strong visual sense. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, and swimming. I find balance in drawing or playing violin and piano. I value nature and clarity – both professionally and personally.

Reliable, precise, and quietly creative – that’s how I approach every project. And if things need to move fast? I usually have a plan.
